RIL VCD is expected to become India’s first Carbon fibre manufacturing unit. Carbon fibre is a light weight polymer which is almost five times stronger and twice as stiff in comparison to steel. It is made of thin, strong crystalline filaments of carbon that is used to strengthen material. It can be thinner than a human hair and gets it strength when twisted together like a yarn.
Due to the above properties, Carbon fibre is very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports."
